c) The 18 hole scratch competition shall be played over 1 round of 18 holes in accordance with the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and in accordance with the local rules of the host Club.

d) Any girl selected by any County shall play off the red tees and receive a reduction in her score equal to the difference between the SSS of the Ladies and Men

e) The winners of the competition shall be the team which returns the lowest aggregate score from any four of the six players. If 18 holes are not completed by all the competitors the competition shall be abandoned and the Executive of the South of Scotland Golfers’ Association shall attempt to find another date. The trophy shall be held by the winners for one year and it is their responsibility to ensure that the trophy is returned to the Secretary, South of Scotland Golfers’ Association at least 4 weeks prior to the following year’s competition.

f) In the event of a tie, the scores from the fifth and then the sixth players will be  taken into account. If this does not produce a result there will be a playoff over holes determined by the host Club, which shall take place immediately. If scores are tied after these holes the competition shall be decided by a hole by hole play-off, over the same holes, until a winner is determined. This playoff will be between nominated players. These players must be nominated before the start of play.

g) The competition shall be under the charge of a Member of the Executive of the   South of Scotland Golfers’ Association to whom all disputes will be referred   and whose decision shall be final. In certain circumstances, the Executive reserves the right to appoint authorised persons to act on their behalf and carry out specific duties.

h) During the stipulated rounds, a competitor may not use a ride on golf buggy unless specifically authorised by the Executive.

j) Pace of Play (Note to Rule 6-7). The Executive has established a pace of play of 4 hours to help prevent slow play. Notwithstanding, it is a group’s responsibility to keep up with the group in front and not in front of the group   behind. In the absence of extenuating circumstances the Penalty for Breach of Condition shall be:-

1st Offence: One stroke to all players in group;

2nd Offence: Two strokes to all players in group;

Subsequent Offences: Disqualification.

k) Suspension of Play Due to a Dangerous Situation (Note to Rule 6-8b) When play is suspended by the Executive, or by a person authorised to act on behalf of the Executive, for a dangerous situation, if the players in the match or group are between the play of two holes, they must not resume play until   the Executive has ordered a resumption of play. If they are in the process of   playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately and not resume play until the Executive has ordered a resumption of play.
